Shocker Motorsports (SM) has been building custom off-road vehicles since 1994 and racing its Shocker Monster Trucks since 1990.  Before SM entered the motorsports scene, SM was known as Ed’s 4x4 Repair.  Ed’s 4x4 was established by Ed Gerber in 1968 and primarily served the local community here in Bakersfield, California with all of their off-road and performance needs.  Over the years Ed and his son Pat worked together on building highly technical projects that demanded exacting precision and workmanship.  Some of the projects included building real Monster Trucks.  But in 1999 Ed Gerber passed away, leaving Pat to operate the family business.  In response to an ever changing after market industry, Pat organized Shocker Motorsports.
